Thursday Thrift: Unexpected Bargains can be so Flattering!

I am a college student: by nature we are a thrifty race. You have seen (or maybe you haven’t) my post about couponing. A good bargain is what keeps me ticking.

I am all about bang for my buck. I love hitting up thrift stores and consignment shops. But you know what I love even more?

Unexpected bargains. Like this shapely dress. Feast your eyes:

Sam’s Club. Marked down for less than $10.

You read that right.

Of course Sam’s Club is all about bargains, but often when I find cute clothing and accessory items from Sam’s it surprises people. Frequently they say, “Hm, I thought they only had really big bags of chips and shampoo to last a family of five one year.”

Real talk though, I love this dress—it is so comfortable, and SO flattering. It just hugs a person’s figure. Mine is a size small, and I typically wear a size 2 dress. They also had this dress in a bright coral and in a white. You go, Sam’s Club!

Believe it or not, Sam’s Club even has good jewelry.

Like my ring (sterling silver, 14k gold, blue topaz, diamond accents). Additional info: cross bracelet is from Epiphany Boutique, charm bracelet is Pandora, watch is Coach.

The other thrifty part of this outfit are my knock-off Jack Rogers sandals. Hear me out, I’d pay $150 for some genuine leather Jack Rogers, but I can’t really justify the expense at the moment.

These were less than $30 at Shoe Carnival. They are the Y-Not? brand.

I got this pair and a gold pair (I hit them up during one of their famous buy one get one half off sales), but they also had black ones and white ones.

My lip color is a Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in Lovesick. These stains are seriously my favorite.

Lips in Lovesick. Necklace is from Sam’s, for yet another win.

Where are some of your favorite unexpected places you’ve found great deals?
