Have you ever had a dress that was simply made for you? It’s love at first sight, only to find that it fits right as well—and from then on, it’s your go to whenever you need to feel like gold. My first dress like this was an Anthropologie number that I just had to have for senior portraits. I still wear it to this day. Last month my mother and I were running errands one weekend and passed by Dress Barn when I saw it: THE Dress 2.0. It was in the front window on the mannequin: a delicate princess-seamed dress of navy blue lace and off-white underlay. We were excited when I tried it on, and it fit perfectly! The even better part is that Dress Barn also had a necklace and earring set that matched the dress. Since then, I have been dying to wear this ensemble. I finally bust it out last Sunday for an awards banquet I attended.
I paired the dress with my favorite nude Steve Madden pumps to create long leg lines. To create a few pops of color, I went with a leather Nine West clutch and Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain in “Romantic.”
